2/2/2013 Happy Belated New Year

I was trying to propagate Stephanotis Floribunda and it looks like a success!  The cuttings are starting to grow and a brief inspection of the roots show there are roots.  So I will add that to the text list of plants and will try to update the picture list when I get time.  I have begun planting more tulasi.  I have lemon grass which is looking pretty good too.  I planted some lemon grass from cuttings and some from seed.  I need to start transplanting plants in general, but I have to be careful because once I do that my space requirements go up exponentially.

Some people have expressed interest in helping out and contributing in some fashion.  I will have a sign up list for anyone interested in helping at the sale.  Some possible ways to help would include helping with the website (or a better website) that might allow me to somehow gauge demand for various plants; people to help with outreach to get the word out; people to host plants in their home; people to grow plants of their own design to include in the sale; and other ways.   If anyone has any unwanted potting soil they can feel free to bring it to the sale.   I probably don't want to ask for pots at this time.  I purchase a bunch of 4" pots and with so many it makes it easier if they are uniform.  I could use a small number of 1 gallon pots for some things I need to grow for a longer time (like guava).  If anyone has some laying around please let me know.

12/7/2012 Long Time/No See Update

I have been lucky to get a few extra seeds from my curry leaf tree.  Of the original 11 seeds, all germinated.  I have 2 trays of 50 I started on Halloween and they are about 90% germinated.  I also started another 50 last week.  I probably have enough seeds for an additional 50 at least.   And I still have about 20 from this year(that I will be offering at a slightly higher price).  I sure hope I can find enough people to give all of these to:)  I have not had good luck starting the parijats.  I have one plant that is doing  very well(about 2' tall) and I am still experimenting with germination attempts.  Worse come worse I will be able to propagate it via cuttings, but that may delay availability.  The jasmines are starting to branch and I hope I can keep them contained until spring.  I have some little side experiments going with other plants, but nothing fruitful so far.   Happy Holidays to all!

10/31/2012 Halloween Update

My daughters and I planted the bulk of the curry leaf seeds this past weekend.  We planted approximately 100 seeds.  There are about another 30 or 40 seeds still ripening on the tree.  The seeds planted on 10/19 are all germinating.    It is a nice time as seeds are beginning to germinate.  We are on our way:)  I am trying to grow other plants as well, but I will not mention them at this time.  I don't know how fast they will grow and it might take some time until they are hardy enough to give out.

10/19/2012 Plants!

Planting for next spring has begun!  We planted the first batch of curry leaf seeds last weekend.  The first plant is beginning to emerge.  We have another set of curry leaf seeds to plant this weekend.

We are trying to plant some other things which may or may not pan out.   The first of those seeds has started sprouting.  Lemongrass and a pink indian guava are sprouting!

Maybe when things are a little further along I will post a picture of my 'operation'.   It is just the back of my garage but it actually looks organized this year thanks to my wife:)

9/26/2012 Tulsi Pots

We have some exciting news.  We have decided to go ahead and try to import tulsi pots!  There are two sizes, and the actual price will be determined later and posted here.  In the interest of full disclosure, the cost of pot+shipping will not be donated, however anything over that will.  Here are the two pots:
